Former president of the International Union of Architects (UIA) 2017-2021. He is an architect experienced in more than 80 countries worldwide, working on a wide range of industrial, hospitality, education, and institutional projects. He is an authority on issues in urban design and architecture and makes regular television and radio appearances. A Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, he is also an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, an Honorary Member of the Japanese Institute of Architects, and of many other national professional bodies.
