Expert in public policies and local and international projects on sustainable urban development. She is currently an advisor on post-COVID-19 gender policies for the Huairou Commission, founder of the OnCities2030 initiative and the Institute for Urban Journalism.
She led the process of elaboration of the New Urban Agenda, being the coordinator of the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat III) in 2016. She is a specialist in the definition and implementation of strategic plans, intergovernmental processes and collaborative platforms, as well as in the impact and legacy of major events in cities.
She was also coordinator of the World Urban Forum, from 2012 to 2019 and UN-Habitat representative for Brunei-Darussalam, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand in 2019. She held various positions of responsibility in the Barcelona City Council and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism of the Government of Spain, as well as project manager in the United Nations Mission in Kosovo, from 2001 to 2002. She holds a degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology and Journalism, both from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
