Presentation of the Affordable Housing Activation Declaration at the World Urban Forum in Katowice
On Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the World Urban Forum in Katowice, Poland, the final document of the UIA 2022 International Forum “Affordable Housing Activation: Removing Barriers”, held last May in Madrid, Spain, will be presented.
The event will take place in Room 14 of the ICC Multipurpose Hall starting at 2:00 pm.
The main objective of this event is to (re)position housing within the contemporary global debate on economically viable, environmentally and culturally sustainable and socially inclusive cities. It seeks to solidify the objectives established with the ‘UIA 2022 International Forum’: to establish long-term benchmarks, strengthen global networks and alliances, and obtain maximum support from organizations, governments, entities and institutions towards solutions to housing affordability challenges, as well as to promote synergies that allow for the development of comprehensive projects and strategies. The expected outcome is increased knowledge sharing, generated advocacy and strengthened partnerships with global stakeholders related to affordable housing.
The event is jointly organized by the Consejo Superior de los Colegios de Arquitectos de España (CSCAE) and OnCities 2030. It will also feature the participation of José Luis Cortés, President of the International Union of Architects; Robert Lewis-Lettington, Chief of the Land, Housing and Shelter Section of UN-Habitat; and Ana Moreno, President of OnCities2030.
In addition, the Director of the ‘UIA 2022 International Forum’, Angela Baldellou, participates in this same forum in the Debate on the Situation in Ukraine, which takes place on Thursday 28.
