Ana Pinho

Ana Pinho is Principal Researcher at CIAUD, Lisbon School of Architecture of Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal. Architect, born in 1974, she completed her PhD degree in Urban Planning (2009) with the thesis “European policies and concepts in urban regeneration”, that was awarded with the Institute for Housing and Urban Rehabilitation (IHRU) Prize for Scientific Production. Between 2001 and 2012, Ana Pinho developed research activity at the Portuguese National Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LNEC). She also lectured and served as visiting professor in several universities and was Coordinator of the Integrated Master in Architecture at Universidade Católica Portuguesa (2013-2014). She is author of various scientific and technical publications; participated in several conferences and juries; and has been engaged in professional associations and volunteer initiatives. Ana Pinho was Commissioner of the Lisbon Strategic Charter (2009) for the fields of demography, housing, and urban regeneration, and advisor for the Lisbon City Council (2012-2015). Also served as expert consultant for several other public administration and nongovernmental organizations. 

In 2017, was nominated Secretary of State for Housing, position she held until 2020.
