Deniz Incedayi

President of the Turkish Chamber of Architects

Graduated from the German Institute in 1979, and from Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, Department of Architecture in Istanbul in 1986.    

She has been teaching at Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts since 1986. In the academic field, she works on social and cultural concerns in the architectural design process, environmental context and housing issues. She has published several books, articles and papers in this field and has participated in several national and international juries, commissions and work programmes.    

She also held many administrative positions and was assigned to various responsibilities at the university and the Turkish Chamber of Architects.

In national and international platforms she has worked as a permanent member of the jury of the “Global Award for Sustainable Architecture”, (2018-…), in the International Union of Architects (UIA) as Vice President of Region II (2011-2017) and in the International Union of Architects (UIA) as a member of the Council, Region II (2009-2011).

She has been a member of the Education Commission and the Validation Council of UNESCO-UIA (2009-…) and President of the Chamber of Architects of the Istanbul Metropolitan Delegation (2010-2014).   

She was vice-president of the Turkish Chamber of Architects (CAT) from 2016 to 2020 and is currently the president of the Turkish Chamber of Architects (2020-…) .  

She is also the editor of the Architecture Magazine (mimar.ist) of the Turkish Chamber of Architects, Istanbul Metropolitan Chapter (2006-…).   

Her languages are Turkish (native), German (good), English (good) and Italian (basic).
