Financing

Depending on the context, an average household has to save up to 8 years of its total income to cover the market cost of a house. In this context, financing mechanisms are the cornerstone on which affordability is built. Various financing models have evolved over the years, proving their effectiveness in specific contexts. However, the lack of financing for affordable housing is a cross-cutting constraint that affects virtually all nations to a greater or lesser extent.
